Aquarius — January 20 – February 18

Aquarius is the sign of the future and the collective. After Capricorn has built the established structure, Aquarius asks what should come next — and for whom. It steps back, sees the system, and imagines how it could be fairer, freer, more humane.

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus (and, in older astrology, by Saturn) — the planet of disruption, originality, and sudden change. It is a fixed Air sign: ideas held with conviction. Its opposite sign, Leo, shows the contrast: where Leo affirms the singular self, Aquarius dissolves into the group, the cause, the idea larger than any one person.

The Aquarius personality is independent thought. Aquarius reasons from principle, not from what is expected, and it is unbothered — sometimes proudly so — by being the odd one out. It sees patterns others don’t and questions rules others accept.

At work, Aquarius thrives where it can innovate — technology, social causes, science, anything that improves a system or breaks a stale mould. It does poorly under rigid hierarchy and rules that exist only because they always have.

In friendship, Aquarius is the loyal, open-minded friend with the widest, most varied circle. It values friendship highly — often above romance — and treats its friends as equals and fellow thinkers.
